Nathan Trentham – Missing Wife

 Nathan Trentham – Missing Wife

Nathan Trentham, the reserved London private investigator (ex-Metropolitan Police, methodical, prefers observation and records over confrontation, keeps a quiet office near the river and a worn notebook), was hired by a City banker whose wife had vanished after a routine evening walk.

The husband insisted she had simply walked out, yet the flat showed no packed bags, her passport remained, and her phone had last pinged near a quiet stretch of the Thames path. Trentham spent two days reconstructing her routine from bank statements, CCTV, and the cleaner’s schedule. He noticed the husband had quietly transferred funds to an offshore account three weeks earlier and had begun renting a small flat in Clerkenwell under a false name.

A second visit to the Thames path turned up a discarded receipt for two train tickets to Dover purchased the night before she disappeared. Trentham confronted the husband with the ticket and the transfer records. The man admitted he had planned to leave with his wife’s younger sister; when the wife discovered the affair and the money, she had confronted him on the path. In the struggle she fell into the river. The body was recovered the next morning. Trentham handed the file to the police and returned to his office, making a fresh pot of tea while he updated his notebook.
